TORONTO - Maple Leafs goalie James Reimer says the injury that prematurely ended his season was neck-related rather than a concussion.
He saw a specialist in Montreal over the weekend and called the diagnosis "outstanding news."
Reimer sat out the final two weeks of the season after taking a shot in practice and experiencing some of the concussionlike symptoms that sidelined him in October. The 24-year-old goalie finished with a 14-14-4 record and .900 save percentage.
Toronto failed to make the playoffs, and players cleared out their lockers Monday at Air Canada Centre.
