Preview: The Jets, the Wild's closest rival 400 miles away, started this colossal mess for the Wild by beating Minnesota 2-1 in a nasty, hard-fought contest north of the border Dec. 13. At that time, the Wild was tops in the NHL, had won 17 of 21 and seven in a row. Since, it is 5-16-5. The Jets are 4-6-1 in their past 11 and haven't won in regulation on the road since Jan. 16. Thousands of Jets fans are expected for the contest.

Players to watch: The Wild reassigned LW Kris Foucault to Houston of the AHL on Wednesday and recalled F's Cody Almond and Jeff Taffe. Almond has one goal in eight games for the Wild this season; Taffe has two assists in three games. Taffe is the Aeros' third-leading scorer with 32 points in 47 games, while Almond has 12 points in 25 games. ... F Dany Heatley has six goals and 10 points in his past nine games. ... C Matt Cullen has no goals in 13 games. ... In seven games since returning from a knee injury, Jets D Dustin Byfuglien has five points and 20 shots.

Numbers: The Wild has scored seven goals in the past six games; the Jets have scored two goals or fewer in the nine of the past 10 games. ... The Wild is 0-3 on its homestand despite scoring first each game. The Wild is an NHL-worst 10-9-4 (.435) when scoring first.

Injuries: Wild LW/RW Cal Clutterbuck (charley horse) didn't practice Wednesday, but coach Mike Yeo said he's feeling a little better. He is questionable. RW Carson McMillan (lower body) was placed on injured reserve. D Clayton Stoner (hip), LW/RW Pierre-Marc Bouchard (concussion) and LW Guillaume Latendresse (concussion) are out. The Jets are healthy.
