A win tonight by the Wild in Colorado would put it in the top 8 in the West headed into the All-Star Break.

Afternoon from the Mile High City. Quick update:

Niklas Backstrom vs. Jean-Sebastien Giguere tonight. Backstrom is 18-5-2 in 25 starts vs. Colorado with a 2.25 goals against average and .925 save percentage with 3 shutouts.

Backstrom is 7-2-1 in 10 career starts at Colorado with a 2.13 GAA and a .935 SV%. He is 4-1-1 in last six games at Colorado with a 1.71 GAA, .952 SV% and 2 SO. He has allowed 1 goal or fewer in 5 of the last 6 (dating back to 11/6/08).

He has allowed three or more goals in his last 7 starts this season.

The Wild looks to snap an 11-game road winless streak tonight.
