In a move obviously designed to let Jim Kleinsasser focus on blocking at the line of scrimmage, the Vikings have signed fullback Ryan D'Imperio off their practice squad and released rookie tight end Allen Reisner. If Reisner clears waivers, he could be added to the Vikings' practice squad.
Kleinsasser has done an outstanding job handling the fullback duties in addition too his tight end job. But when Kleinsasser moves into the backfield, the Vikings have no adequate blocking on the line at tight end. Visanthe Shiancoe, Kyle Rudolph and Reisner are pass catchers who are below-average blockers.
UPDATE: Technical difficulties ended up squashing the live chat today. Our apologies. Here's my statement on the matter: "I feel we are on the verge of being a winning chat. I honestly do. There's too much talent in this room not to have a winning chat. It's just a matter of execution. That's all it is. It's on us. We shot ourselves in the foot. We need to go back to the drawing board. Take it one chat at a time. And no changes are necessary at the chatterback position at this time."
