Former Gov. Tim Pawlenty released his first radio ad in Iowa Monday — as fellow Minnesotan Michele Bachmann announced her candidacy there — with a slogan taking a subtle hit at his in-state presidential rival.

"Tim Pawlenty: Results, not rhetoric," the ad concludes, emphasizing Pawlenty's record on health care, spending and judicial nominees during his two terms as governor.

While the ad doesn't mention any other candidate by name, Bachmann is the presidential candidate most known for her rhetoric, as she has wooed conservatives with her Tea Party message and strong debate performance.

Bachmann surged to second place in the Des Moines Register's first poll released Saturday, landing just a point behind former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney with 22 percent. Pawlenty, meanwhile, was stuck back in single digits at 6 percent and in sixth.

Pawlenty's ad also goes after Romney on health care, as Pawlenty says he "did health care reform the right way."

"No mandates. No takeovers," he adds, echoing a line in his first TV ad in Iowa released last week.
