Gov. Mark Dayton is attending his first same-sex wedding since signing a new law this spring legalizing gay marriage in Minnesota.
The DFL governor will be attending the wedding of Richard Carlbom and Justin Schramm on Friday night in St. Paul.
Other attendees are expected to include House Speaker Paul Thissen and state Sen. Scott Dibble, Minneapolis DFLers who were instrumental in passage of the state's new marriage law.
Carlbom managed Minnesotans United for All Families, which pushed to legalize same-sex marriage. Schramm is a Twin Cities public school teacher.
