Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty may play the straight man to Jon Stewart's funny-man during his Thursday appearance on Comedy Central's Daily Show.

"I think that good advice for anybody going on that show is: Don't try to be funnier than Jon Stewart," Pawlenty said Tuesday. "He is the king of the show."

Pawlenty said he didn't know what the subject of Stewart's questions would be.

"The show is sometimes unpredictable," he said.

Pawlenty isn't the first Minnesota pol to make an appearance on the show.

Before he was a Sen. Al Franken, the author/funnyman was a semi-regular on the show. The Internet Movie Database says he was on the show five times.

Here's one of those spots, in which he pitches his then new book, "The Truth (with Jokes.)" He talks of the book's prediction that he would run for the senate from Minnesota (check), win (check) in 2008 (Nope. It took until 2009.)
