Saturday will be another good day to sit in a kiddie pool filled with ice.

Sunny skies, temperatures that will push up again into the 90s and dew points in the 60s will make for another hot and sticky day in the Twin Cities as Minnesotans are just beginning to warm up to summer. A heat advisory was issued Friday when temperatures and humidity pushed the heat index up into the mid-90s.

Although a heat advisory won't be in effect on Saturday, an air pollution health advisory from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has been issued for parts of eastern, southern and southwestern Minnesota from 10 a.m. through 9 p.m. The affected area includes the Twin Cities metro area, Mankato, New Ulm, Albert Lea, Fairmont and Marshall.

Friday's steamy heat gave way to storms that rolled through parts of Minnesota, including the southern Twin Cities metro area and south central Minnesota. The storm brought scattered hail and high winds, sometimes gusting to 60 to 70 mph, bringing down trees and power lines in parts of Rice, Pierce and Blue Earth counties, according to the National Weather Service. High winds ripped off a barn door near Ellsworth.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to return Sunday night.
