Thanks to Sassbottom for alerting us to Phil Mickelson's recent round of 58. Yes, you read that correctly. We believe he played the full 18, whereas we would be happy with 58 after, say, 11 holes.
From the Orlando Sentinel:
Mickelson did not arrive in Orlando until Wednesday night. But he did get practice in earlier in the week. Mickelson played the Plantation Course in Palm Springs and shot a 58, with 12 birdies and an eagle. Mickelson said he played the course, designed by Fred Couples, because the greens are the same as Bay Hill.
No wonder he's angling for a pairing with Tiger at The Masters. Seriously, a 58. How many holes of golf could you play and be realistically happy to be sitting at 58?
