The Southwest Minnesota State men's basketball team earned the No. 2 seed in the Central Region, facing No. 7 seed Arkansas Tech on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Division II tournament.

The 64-team field was announced Sunday night. The eight-team region tournament will be held in Maryville, Mo., with Northwest Missouri State the host and No. 1 seed.

A victory over Arkansas Tech (21-7) could put the Mustangs (26-5) against conference rival Minnesota State Moorhead in the second round. The Dragons (24-5), NSIC regular-season champions, earned the No. 6 seed in the Central Region and will open against East Central (24-7).

Two more NSIC teams are on the other side of the bracket: Northwest Missouri State (29-1) plays No. 8 seed Upper Iowa (22-10) and No. 4 seed Arkansas-Monticello (23-6) faces No. 5 seed Augustana (S.D.) (23-8).

• On the women's side, Minnesota State Moorhead received one of 35 at-large invitations to the NCAA Division II tournament. The Dragons (24-4) will play Central Missouri on Friday in Searcy, Ark.

NSIC tournament champion Northern State (24-6) drew the eighth seed and will face top-seeded Emporia State (27-4).

Men

Anoka-Ramsey 100, Rochester CTC 83: Mamadou Ngom scored 19 points and the host Golden Rams (27-3) won the NJCAA Region XIII title in Coon Rapids to advance to the national tournament.

Women

Anoka-Ramsey 76, Rochester CTC 66: Rashonna Thomas had 21 points and the host Golden Rams (19-8) won the Region XIIIA tournament.
