JANESVILLE, Wis. — A Wisconsin woman is charged with first-degree reckless homicide for allegedly giving her 1-year-old daughter a fatal dose of methadone.

Twenty-three-year-old Tallie Strommen of Beloit is accused of giving a piece of a methadone pill to her daughter to get her to sleep on Christmas night.

The girl, K'Myah Strommen, was found dead the next day in a Janesville apartment.

The Janesville Gazette (http://bit.ly/1kD8JE1 ) reports Tallie Strommen made her initial court appearance in Rock County Wednesday after being arrested Tuesday.

Police say they are still trying to figure out where Strommen got the drug. She did not have a prescription for it.

Strommen is jailed on $20,000 cash bond. Her next court appearance is set for Feb. 21. Online court records do not list a defense attorney.
