Former Gopher Rhys Lloyd visited the Vikings on Monday and was still talking to the team as of this evening. It's unclear if a deal will get done tonight and for the moment Lloyd remains scheduled to leave on Tuesday morning to visit with the New York Giants.
It does appear the Vikings have a real interest in using a roster spot on Lloyd to serve as their kickoff specialist. That could mean the Vikings will have two kickers active on game day next season with Ryan Longwell handling field goals and Lloyd kicking off.
We'll provide another update as soon as it becomes available. Don't forget to also follow us on Twitter. I'm at www.twitter.com/juddzulgad and Chip is at www.twitter.com/chipscoggins
