GIRLS' BASKETBALL

• SHAKOPEE 68, LAKEVILLE NORTH 62: The Sabres continued their undefeated season with a victory in a matchup of two of the top-ranked teams in Class 4A on Friday night. Shakopee, ranked No. 2, was led by 26 points from Taylor Koenen, a senior guard who has committed to play college basketball at North Carolina next year. Junior Mateya Hutton added 16 points for the Sabres, 10 in the second half. Temi Carda had 20 points for the No. 5 Panthers.

• HOPKINS 67, EDINA 44: Aside from allowing 26 points to Edina's Annika Jank, the Royals defense shut down the Hornets offense. Nia Hollie had 18 points to lead Hopkins' offense.

• APPLE VALLEY 70, BURNSVILLE 39: Brynne Rolland led the Eagles with 20 points, and Aleya Parker scored 15. Emma Fee led the Blaze with 15 points.

• MINNEHAHA ACADEMY 70, BLAKE 40: Sarah Kaminski finished with 24 points, 10 steals, eight rebounds and eight assists for the Redhawks. Neveah Galloway added 16 points for Minnehaha. Nia Harris led the Bears with 24 points.

• DELASALLE 76, COLUMBIA HEIGHTS 56: Aiza Wilson scored 29 points to lead the Islanders passed the Hylanders. Camryn Speese added 15 for DeLaSalle. Columbia Heights was led by Lala Humphries and Pashia Scott, who each scored 15.

• EAST RIDGE 65, ROSEVILLE 53: Noelle Tomes' 21 points led the Raptors, and junior center Mariah Sexe contributed 17 points. Jolisa Ross had 16 points for the Raiders.

• MINNEAPOLIS SOUTH 47, MINNEAPOLIS EDISON 26: The Hill sisters led the Tigers to victory, Morgan and Jade combining to sore 28 points. South held the Tommies to four points in the first half.

BOYS' BASKETBALL

• WOODBURY 89, MOUNDS VIEW 63: The Royals earned a decisive road victory over the conference rival Mustangs. Junior Jeremiah Coddon scored 26 points to lead Woodbury. Nate Albers, one of the state's top scorers, had to be helped off the court in the first half. He returned and scored 20. Junior Ike Thilgen scored a season-high 19 points for Woodbury. The Royals have doubled their win total from last season.

• WAYZATA 70, EDEN PRAIRIE 68: Jack Sowada secured victory for the Trojans with his buzzer-beater in overtime, and he finished with 22 points. Austin Slater followed up with 18 for Wayzata. Senior guard Nick Geolat had 16 points for the Eagles.

• HOPKINS 82, EDINA 63: Amir Coffey's 21 points in the first half were just enough to outscore the Hornets by two, and he finished with 25. Senior Will Moreton had 20 for Edina. Vinnie Shahid and Xavier Johnson added 16 and 12 points, respectively, for the Royals. The state's top team in Class 4A will hit the road and take on Minneapolis Washburn on Saturday night.

• MAPLE GROVE 67, MOORHEAD 31: The third-ranked Crimson easily disposed of the Spuds. Junior Jack Hutchison led the scoring with 20 points, including five three-pointers. Brad Davison was an assist shy of a triple-double, finishing with 11 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.

• ST. PAUL COMO PARK 89, ST. PAUL HUMBOLDT 86: Senior Demetrice Mitchell's 32 points helped the Cougars edge the Hawks after three overtimes. Jason Jett added 17 for Como Park. Humboldt was led by Kionta Franklin and Guadalupe Tovalin, each with 20 points.

• ARMSTRONG 75, IRONDALE 39: Race Thompson led the Falcons to victory with a game-high 29 points. The Armstrong defense shut down the Knights, allowing just 17 points in the first half.

• WATERTOWN-MAYER 49, ANNANDALE 42: Trae Berhow finished with 27 points and 20 rebounds to lead the Royals past the Cardinals. Berhow is averaging 26.5 points per game.

GIRLS' HOCKEY

• MOUND-WESTONKA 3, ORONO 0: Junior goalie Emma Polusny stopped all 32 shots that came her way to lead the Redhawks. Liz Schepers scored first for Mound-Westonka and added two assists. Ellie Burris followed up with two goals in the third period to seal the victory. It was the eighth straight win for the Redhawks, ranked No. 8 in Class 1A.

• BLAKE 2, BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 1: Grace Vojta and Sara McClanahan each scored in the second period, giving the Bears a lead the Knights were not able to overcome. Grace Peluso had the lone Knights goal.

• SIMLEY 3, HENRY SIBLEY 2: Alexa Vandermeer scored the go-ahead goal for the Spartans with 1:41 left in the games. Maddie Wicke had the other two goals for Simley. Abbie Wetzel-Edstrom and Madi Kemp each had goals for the Warriors. Despite the loss Julia Wetzel-Edstrom stopped 43 of Simley's shots. Ava Patnode stopped 21 of 23 for the Spartans.

• BUFFALO 5, NORTH WRIGHT COUNTY 1: Abby Halluska's hat trick led the Bison past the River Hawks, and she also had an assist. The senior has committed to play hockey at Bemidji State. Payton Rudiger added the other two goals for Buffalo. Goalie Karly Schmidt stopped 18 of 19 shots. Junior Lindsay Finnerty had the lone goal for North Wright County.

• HILL-MURRAY 2, HASTINGS 0: Ava Bailey and the Pioneers defense shut down the Raiders. Jac Kaasa and Kenzie Prater scored the goals for Hill-Murray, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A.

• NORTH ST. PAUL/TARTAN 1, MAHTOMEDI 0: Senior Madeline Campbell stopped all of the Zephyrs' shots on goal in the shutout. The game's lone goal came in the first period from Zoe Culshaw-Klein off an assist from Gabriella Bjellos.

• FOREST LAKE 4, DULUTH 1: Kaitlyn VanTassel's two goals and one assist led the Rangers past Duluth. Madi Nolan and Brieja Parent had the other two goals for Forest Lake. Kaylee Remington stopped 18 shots.

• NEW PRAGUE 6, LITCHFIELD/DASSEL-COKATO: Lindsey Bjerke had a hat trick and an assist to lead the Trojans. Jordan Anderson added two goals and an assist. Paige Forsman's power-play goal in the first period denied goalie Sydney Culshaw the shutout.
