Gophers (6-15, 0-9 Big Ten): Minnesota has lost its past four games by seven points or fewer, but the Gophers are still on a 10-game losing streak — the program's longest since dropping 16 in a row in 1986-87. The stretch of better play began against Indiana at home exactly two weeks ago, when Minnesota fell 70-63. Minnesota is coming off a 68-64 loss to No. 21 Purdue on Wednesday. The Gophers were back within two with 1:08 left, but a key possession ended in a late-clock, off-the-mark three-pointer by Carlos Morris and the Boilermakers won on free throws. … Point guard Nate Mason finished with a career-high 12 assists and added 15 points. He's totaled 59 points in the past three games.

Indiana (17-4, 7-1): The No. 19 Hoosiers are coming off an 82-79 loss at Wisconsin on Tuesday that stopped a 12-game winning streak, but Indiana has thumped its past three opponents at home (Ohio State, Illinois and Northwestern) by 25 points or more — the first time the team has had such a run since the 1987-88 season. Yogi Ferrell, who leads the Big Ten in scoring with 20.3 points per game, put up a career-high 30 against Wisconsin. He is shooting 47 percent from three-point range and 49 percent overall. … Indiana is ranked third nationally in points per possession (1.19). The Hoosiers are also ranked first in the Big Ten in defensive efficiency (94.6 points allowed per 100 possessions). … Last year at Assembly Hall, Indiana made 18 three-pointers on the Gophers, then a program-high since beaten by 19 threes against Illinois earlier this month.
