Chris Brown was arrested early Sunday in Washington, D.C., after a fight broke out near the W Hotel, police said, complicating an already snarled legal history for the Grammy Award-winning R&B singer.

Brown, 24, was charged with felony assault in an incident that started just before 4:30 a.m., D.C. police spokesman Paul Metcalf said Sunday morning. Another man also was arrested on felony assault charges, Metcalf said. Brown and the other man were being held in police custody until Monday. A man was injured in the fight and reportedly taken to a hospital, police said. He had been released from the hospital as of early Sunday afternoon, Metcalf said. The felony charges in the case were based, in part, on the extent of the victim's injuries, police said.

Brown was in Washington to perform Saturday night at an event billed as a "Homecoming Weekend" party at a downtown club.

He remains on probation for the 2009 beating of his on-again, off-again girlfriend Rihanna just before the Grammy Awards.

Fleetwood Mac cancels concerts

Fleetwood Mac is canceling planned performances in Australia and New Zealand as bassist John McVie is treated for cancer. Band members Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham said in a statement Sunday that they're sorry to cancel the 14 show dates and hope "fans everywhere will join us in wishing John and his family all the best." Fleetwood Mac recently finished a European tour. The New Zealand and Australia shows were scheduled through Dec. 7. The band is also set to perform in Las Vegas on Dec. 30.

Jay-Z wants the facts: Jay-Z — under increasing pressure to back out of a collaboration with the luxury store Barneys New York after it was accused of racially profiling two black customers — said Saturday he's being unfairly "demonized" for just waiting to hear all of the facts. The rap mogul made his first statement about the controversy in a posting on his website. He has come under fire for remaining silent as news surfaced this week that two young black people said they were profiled by Barneys after they purchased expensive items from the Manhattan store.

babies of anarchy: Actress Maggie Siff, 39, of the FX series "Sons of Anarchy," is expecting her first child with her husband, the actress confirmed to Us Weekly. Siff revealed she was expecting via Twitter with the addition of "future mom" on her account profile.
