Law enforcement officials responding to a report of a medical emergency on Lake Minnetonka Sunday evening were unable to revive an unconscious adult male at the scene.

According to the Hennepin County Sheriff's office, the call came at 7:24 p.m. of a man in trouble on Lake Minnetonka near Smith's Bay. Responding were Hennepin County as well as police officers from Orono and firefighters from Long Lake.

Police Clips said scanner traffic mentioned an unconscious person "turning purple on a boat" that was pulling into a marina and said the "911 callers weren't very cooperative or possibly very intoxicated."

Emergency responders tried to revive the man, who eventually was pronounced dead at the scene. The Hennepin County Sheriff is investigating. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the man's name and cause of death.
