WAYZATA

Buses to be identified by route numbers The Wayzata School District's transportation department is changing the way its buses are identified.

It now will use route numbers instead of bus numbers.

Previously, parents have identified their child's bus by the number painted on the bus.

Beginning this fall, buses will be identified by a three-digit route number posted in the window of each bus.

The change was made to reduce confusion when it's necessary to use a different bus to complete a route, the district said.

All regular bus routes will be posted using numbers in the 300's; all special-education minibus routes will be posted with numbers in the 400's.
