A 67-year-old motorcyclist from New Brighton crashed and was killed while riding near the Mall of America shortly before dawn Thursday, authorities said.
The motorcycle hit a curb and went down on southbound Hwy. 77 just south of Interstate 494 about 5:50 a.m., according to the State Patrol.
The rider, identified Thursday night as Ronald Rostberg by the Hennepin County medical examiner's office, was not wearing a helmet and was dead at the scene, the State Patrol said.
The patrol said in a statement that he was heading east on I-494, took the ramp to southbound Hwy. 77, bounced over the divider and crashed.
