A 10-year-old boy jumping onto trains in Minneapolis with his brother got his foot caught in the wheels of one and had his toe crushed, authorities said Sunday.
The incident involving the BNSF train occurred about 5:45 p.m. Saturday near Filmore Street NE. and Broadway, said rail spokeswoman Amy McBeth.
The boy and his 12-year-old brother "were hopping moving trains" as the trains headed west, according to a police report.
As the brothers leapt from one of the trains, the younger boy's left shoe got caught in the wheels, which ran over and crushed his left big toe, the report added.
The boy, whose name has not been released, was taken by ambulance to North Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
In St. Paul, 9-year-old Marshawn Farr-Robinson had both feet severed in mid-August after falling under a moving freight train near his home.
