Suspicious vehicle. A vehicle was reported abandoned at 60th Street and Manning Avenue. A deputy determined the vehicle was parked there because it had a flat tire.

Loose animals. Three goats were reported walking on Jamaica Avenue, north of 75th Street. While looking into the matter, authorities were told that the goats made it home all right.

NOV. 3

Dumping complaint. About 100 pumpkins were found smashed in the parking lot of Oak Shore Park, 12790 Exhall Av. N.

Lake Elmo

OCT. 31

Suspicious activity. A deputy on patrol noticed a vehicle parked after hours in the Nordic Center lot at Lake Elmo Park Reserve, 1515 Keats Av. The deputy made contact with a man inside the vehicle who explained he was using the free Wi-Fi.

NOV. 3

Stranded student. With staff leaving for the evening, someone at Oak-Land Junior High School, 820 Manning Av., called the Sheriff's Office regarding a student waiting for a ride home. The student's mother showed up after a deputy arrived.

NOV. 5

Suspicious box. A gray box with wires hooked up to a street sign was reported in the area of Inwood Avenue and 3rd Street. The box was determined to be a traffic counter.

NOV. 7

Suspicious activity. Someone in the 10000 block of Stillwater Lane reported a loud vehicle pulling into their driveway and a person putting garbage in their trash can.

MAHTOMEDI

NOV. 4

Break-in. The lock to a shed behind a church in the 900 block of Mahtomedi Avenue was cut with bolt cutters. Nothing was reported missing.

MAY TOWNSHIP

NOV. 1

Suspicious activity. A deputy noticed the doors to the beach house were open at Square Lake Park, 15450 Square Lake Trail. After finding no one inside and nothing disturbed, he closed and locked the building.

NOV. 9

Car vs. raccoon. A woman reported hitting a raccoon that had run into the road on Norell Avenue, north of 150th Street.

WOODBURY

OCT. 31

Suspicious activity. A resident on Manning Avenue complained about vehicles slowing down and looking at her mailbox, with a couple pulling into her driveway. Police determined there was a party near the complainant's home and that it was likely people were trying to find the address.

NOV. 2

Suspicious activity. A male and two females were reported going into a dumpster area behind a business in the 8900 block of Hudson Road. An officer made contact with the male, who said he was retrieving discarded food from the dumpster. He was told that the store did not want people taking items from the dumpster and that it was against the law in Woodbury.

NOV. 5

Suspicious activity. Police checked on a report that a business in the 7100 block of Valley Creek Plaza was not open when it should have been. A patron outside the store said the same thing had happened a few months before, when a manager did not show up for work. An officer contacted a sister store nearby, whose manager said they would contact their district manager to advise them of the situation.
