Friday was the tale of two rush hours you could say, with little activity and great travel times at both the beginning and end of the commute.

In between a flurry of crashes and stalls between 7:15 and 8:15 a.m. made things interesting and probably frustrating for some drivers. Those on northbound Cedar Avenue had the worst of it with a right lane closure near the Crosstown. A motorcyclist lost it and was injured in a crash, which led to a backup that extended back to I-494.

Westbound 94 had a little setback with a crash at Earl Street while southbound 494 commuters had a minor delay with at crash at 49th Avenue.

At present, most routes have returned to normal and are flowing well. Look out for a palate left in the lanes of northbound 35W at Cleveland Avenue. A MnDOT First Unit is on the scene to pick it up.

Look out for a stall on the right shoulder of southbound Hwy. 169 at 22nd Street and another on westbound 394 at Wirth Pkwy.

Metro Transit said Northstar trains ran on time. This afternoon, we'll see. Outbound trains have been delayed on several occasions, so stay tuned.
