The Drive will keep you up to speed with the latest on Twin Cities commuting.

8:10 a.m. update: At a tortoise pace

The number of crashes have dropped off in the past half hour, but a couple in strategic places continue to tangle traffic.

A mishap on westbound 94 at 5th Street is adding to the misery for drivers barely rolling along from Snelling Avenue into downtown Minneapolis.  It's 35 minutes from St. Paul to the Lowry Tunnel.

Neither direction of Hwys. 100 nor 169 between Crosstown and roughly Rockford Road are moving at more than 10 miles per hour. It's a aggravating drive that could take 50 minutes.

Southbound 35W crawls from Lexington Avenue to Hwy. 280.  A new crash at Washington Avenue is complicating things heading into downtown Minneapolis.  Plan on 45 minutes from Lexington to downtown.

No improvement on 694 across the northern suburbs. Plan on up to 1 hour from Oakdale to Maple Grove, both westbound and eastbound.
