Greg Novak, who farms near Gilman in central Minnesota, says: "When I start a job, I like to finish it."
When snow started mounting on his Benton County farm, collapsing a green house he uses to grow vegetables, he had to move piles of snow to avoid other greenhouse cave-ins. Using skid loaders and a silage blower, he built a 50-foot snowman named Granddaddy, according to the St. Cloud Times.
A 61-foot auger became an arm. A 55-gallon barrel turned into a nose. Novak had made a smaller, 29-footer in 1991 and nearly doubled his effort this go-around.
