The African American Leadership Forum is recommending the Minneapolis school board select Theartrice 'T' Williams, who served a term on the board before losing his seat in the November 2010 election, to fill a vacancy created by the departure of Lydia Lee, who will attend her last meeting tonight.

Members of the forum's Education Work Group screened four of the five finalists and selected Williams as the best choice, citing his "applicable school board experience and institutional knowledge."

The other candidates are Peggy Clark, David Joseph DeGrio, Kim Ellison and Brooke Magid Hart, as we reported.
