Vice Queen Joe Linda Braziel laughs recounting the question often asked by her 52-year-old son. “Are you heading out with the Red Hatters?”

Yep, she says. “I’m outta here.”

The Royal Red Hat Sabathanettes are holding new-member registration Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sabathani Community Center, 310 E. 38th St., Minneapolis. Dues are $30 for the local chapter and $20 for the national chapter. For more information, call Linda Peterson at 612-521-4818.

Have a red hat? By all means, wear it. “We get so many compliments,” Sabathanettes Queen Mamie Favor said.

“When you put on your red and purple, you can be as sassy as you want to be.”
