What's open and closed on Labor Day

Post offices: Closed. No regular mail service.

Banks: TCF traditional branches will close at 3 p.m.; in-store branches (inside Cub Foods) will close at 6 p.m. Wells Fargo in-store and traditional branches will be closed. US Bank branches in Byerly's stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; traditional branches will be closed.

Groceries: Major supermarkets will be open.

Malls: Most will be open.

Mass transit: Metro Transit buses and light-rail trains will follow Sunday/holiday schedules. Northstar trains will not run. State Fair express buses will operate from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on some routes; for route information, call 612-373-3333 or go to www.metrotransit.org. Minnesota Valley Transit Authority will follow Sunday/holiday service. Maple Grove Transit, Plymouth Metrolink and Southwest Metro Transit will have service to the State Fair. Call Metro Mobility for service.

Parking meters: Minneapolis, St. Paul and the University of Minnesota won't enforce meters. Minneapolis parks will enforce meters unless noted otherwise on the meter.

Schools: Public schools and the University of Minnesota will be closed.

Public agencies: Local, state and federal offices will be closed.

Libraries: Most will be closed. Call for hours.
