A school bus driver in southeastern Minnesota is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol while driving kids to summer classes.
Robert R. Mielke, 40, of Stewartville, Minn., was arrested Monday morning in Hayfield and charged Tuesday in Dodge County with third-degree driving under the influence.
Authorities received a report of Mielke's "poor driving conduct" while he had children on board who were heading to summer school classes, the Sheriff's Office said.
A deputy responding to the report pulled over the bus about 9 a.m. and noted alcohol on Mielke's breath, the Sheriff's Office added. The children had been dropped off at school by the time Mielke was stopped.
The bus is operated by Engel Bus Service of Stewartville.
