Macy's art department liquidation sale

The art galleries at 11 Macy's home stores in the Twin Cities, Chicago and Detroit have closed or are closing soon. Art Holdings, which also supplied art to Marshall Field's warehouse sales, has brought in 4,000 pieces, including posters, prints and originals to its Golden Valley location (6210 Wayzata Blvd., 763-567-2200). Most items, discounted 50 to 80 percent, will sell for $50 to $500. Customers familiar with contemporary pieces at Art Holdings and its Art Outlet will find more traditional oils, botanicals and etchings at this sale, said CEO Greg Hennes. The sale starts today and is expected to run through March as pieces from the Chicago and Detroit stores are added.
