WE SPOTTED IT

Jemima Puddle-duck and the Flopsy bunnies have gone mainstream (we couldn't spot Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, hedgehog laundress, though). Minneapolis-based Murals Your Way said it has added 24 images by children's author and illustrator Beatrix Potter to its library of custom-sized wall murals. The murals range from character closeups to environmental landscapes, with favorites from Peter Rabbit to Jeremy Fisher to Squirrel Nutkin nestling inside or cavorting outside burrows. The scenes are printed on commercial-grade vinyl or canvas for $7.95 and $11.95 per square foot; there is also an option to personalize by adding your child's name. See the complete catalog at www.muralsyourway.com.

HOT TICKET • Here's a twist on Art-a-Whirl, the annual free, self-guided tours of northeast Minneapolis artist studios and galleries set to start Friday. Castle Building & Remodeling said it will host the work of 12 Northeast artists who don't have studio space. Enjoy a glass of wine and some appetizers while viewing works ranging from Kit Eastman's stencil-dyed table runners, to tin collage by Jennifer Nelson, to iron works and blown glass by Dirk Dubois, among others. 5-10 p.m. Friday, noon-8 p.m. Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday; 2600 NE. Johnson St., 612-789-8509.

• And for those who want to keep on browsing, check out the free Lane Home Entertainment Tour, a mobile showroom inside an 18-wheeler. The truck features a "Man Cave" and a "She Den" (guess which includes a power recliner with lighted cupholders and storage space?) and is set to appear at these Hom Furniture locations: 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Thu.- Fri., Coon Rapids; 9:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Sat., Plymouth, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sun., Lakeville.

STORE NEWS

Another new occasional store joins the Carver lineup: Country Cottage of Carver has settled into brick-walled digs at 204 N. Broadway St. Proprietor Cheryl Ogren-Johnson has filled the tiny space -- 357 square feet -- with vintage and painted furniture and "simple comforts" for the home and garden. Her mid-monthly sale starts Thursday and runs through Sunday.
