Olympics Opening Ceremonies; "Primary Colors"

Come together

Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle is overseeing "The 30th Summer Olympics Opening Ceremonies" (6:30 p.m. Friday, KARE, Ch. 11), and while details of the $42 million event are quite hush- hush, word has it that Queen Elizabeth, James Bond, Mary Poppins, "Chariots of Fire" and Paul McCartney are all part of the mix.

They got the beat

If the Olympics have you in an international mood, check out "Havana, Havana!" (9 p.m. Friday, KTCA, Ch. 2), a celebration of Cuban music with David Torrens, Kelvis Ochoa, Raul Paz and other artists that we should all know better.

The Clinton era

"Political Animals" is getting some praise for Sigourney Weaver's not-so-subtle impression of Hillary Clinton, but don't forget that Emma Thompson did it first. The Oscar winner channeled the former First Lady in 1998's "Primary Colors" (8 p.m. Sunday, Showtime Showcase), a fictionalized look at a burger-lovin', skirt-chasin', Southern speakin' presidential candidate with a loyal wife.

Arrrgh!

Season 2 of "Bar Rescue" (8 p.m. Sunday, Spike) kicks off with our expert, Jon, trying to salvage a pirate-themed watering hole in Silver Springs, Md. Tip No. 1: Unless you're located on the coast of Florida, never open a pirate-themed bar.
