An "American Idol" winner is the headline performer for this year's Miss Black Minnesota pageant, organizers announced.

Ruben Studdard, who prevailed over Clay Aiken in Season 2 of "Idol" in 2003, will participate in the pageant Saturday at the Hopkins High School auditorium in Minnetonka.

Studdard recently signed with Shanachie Entertainment, a label that counts Minneapolis' Mint Condition among its acts. He is releasing a new album early next year.

Also on the bill is Edina High School product Paris Bennett, an "Idol" finalist in 2005.

For more information on the pageant, visit www.missblackminnesotausa.com or call 1-877-993-8499. Tickets range from $25 to $40.

The pageant starts at 6 p.m., with the winner advancing to the Miss Black USA competition on Aug. 5.
