You didn’t think Brad Paisley was going to let a year go by without playing Minnesota, did you?

The country music hitmaker and guitar ace -- who is consistently one of the most popular and well-reviewed Nashville stars in concert locally – will squeeze in a 2013 date at Xcel Energy Center on Nov. 16. That’s a little late in the year for him to continue calling his concert trek the Beat This Summer Tour, but whatever. Tickets go on sale Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. for $25-$59.75 through Ticketmaster and the X’s box office. Chris Young of “The Man I Want to Be” fame will open.

Paisley last packed the X in January 2012 and again in 2010. He has also been a top draw at the Minnesota State Fair and We Fest in recent years, the latter of which already announced him as a headliner for next summer’s festival.

The congenial star’s image took a bit of a hit earlier this year with the controversy surrounding his single “Accidental Racist,” based on continued use of the Confederate flag as an image of Southern pride. The hubbub didn’t seem to hurt his drawing power, though, as his current tour has once again seen plenty of sell-outs.
