A set list & a few more thoughts about Bruno Mars at the X

A few more thoughts and questions about Bruno Mars’ show on Sunday at the sold-out Xcel Energy Center:

* Why did we need a 58-minute intermission? Doesn’t Bruno realize how many young girls (under 13) he attracts? Thirty minutes is sufficient.

* My concerns about lighting and staging were mentioned in my review. Did we really need loud explosions in the middle of two or three songs? Those detracted rather than added.

* Why doesn’t Mars allow photographers from major newspaper to photograph him in concert? Bob Dylan doesn’t allow it; but that has been his policy since the 1980s. Maybe he’s earned his curmudgeon-ness. Beyonce, like Prince, has banned newspaper photographers, as well, because she’s either vain or a control freak — or both. But Bruno? On his first arena tour? Moreover, the photos provided by his people didn’t even come close to matching the outfit he wore in St. Paul. Sad.

Here is the set list from Sunday:

Moonshine / Natalie/ Treasure/ Money >Billionaire/ Show Me/ Our First Time > Pony (Ginuwine)/ Marry You/ If I Knew/ Runaway Baby/ Nothin on You/ When I Was YOur Man/ Grenade/ Just the Way You Are ENCORE Locked Out of Heaven/ Gorilla
