Rodriguez didn’t show up the Oscars Sunday to see the film about him, “Searching for Sugar Man,” snare the trophy for best documentary. But the long-lost singer-songwriter will be in concert May 15 at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul.

The Detroit singer-songwriter, who became a cult hero in South Africa (which is the story of the film), came to the Twin Cities last year, once to promote the film and another time for a private show at the Weisman Art Museum. But this will be Sixto Rodriguez's official Twin Cities comeback gig.

Tickets, priced at $48.50, will go on sale Friday at the Fitzgerald and Ticketmaster outlets.

In other concert news, Morrissey’s show has been set for a third time – March 22 at the Orpheum. Tickets for the original October 29 show can still be used. Ticketholders wishing a refund must do so by March 15. Morrissey, who has twice postponed his tour for various reasons (ailing mother, sick crew, ulcers), will return to performing Tuesday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

Canadian troubadour Gordon Lightfoot is booked once again at the State Theatre, on April 29. The show is part of his 50 Years on the Carefree Highway Tour, which means he’ll reprise “Sundown” and “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.” Tickets, priced at $48.50 and $58.50, will go on sale Friday.
