Snoop Dogg before he took it all off last night at the Cabooze. / By Richard Tsong-Taatarii, Star Tribune
You can forget any worries about Snoop Dogg's early show last night at the Cabooze being something of a G-rated outing -- and I don't mean 'G' as in gangsta -- since it was an all-ages affair. You can see by the set list below that Snoop played some of his raunchiest and/or grittiest tunes, and as you can read in the full print review he wasn't exactly an angel between songs. Funny, though, I'd actually bet the early show drew an older crowd than at the late set, as I saw a majority of 30- and 40-somethings and hardly any teens there -- more mature folks who probably had to get up in the morning, and/or didn't jump at buying tickets right away. Perhaps Snoop's connection with kids-these-days is dwindling, but he certainly connected with the crowd that did turn up. Here's the set list:
I Wanna Rock / P.I.M.P. / Kush / Gin and Juice / I Wanna F U / That's That / 187 / snippets: Nuthin' But a G Thang, Bitch Please / 2Pac medley: Hail Mary, Gangsta Party / Warren G: This DJ, Regulate / Sexual Eruption / Beautiful / Jump Around (House of Pain cover) / Drop It Like It's Hot / P-Funk medley / What's My Name?
How did the late-night show compare to the earlier set?
