"Wisconsin's nine-day gun deer season starts this weekend. We annually have about 17,000 ÂMinnesota hunters who come over and join our Wisconsin tradition. And the fee for an Âout-of-state deer hunting license is $160. We also have a new half-price hunting license, which Minnesotans also qualify for: It's for anyone who hasn't purchased a deer hunting license in Wisconsin in the last 10 years. That was passed by our legislature last year to recruit new hunters and to encourage some former hunters to come back."
Kurt Thiede, Land Division Administrator, Wisconsin DNR
