Brook Jacobs, a florist who started the "Good Neighbor" rose giveaway that has become an annual nationwide event, died Thursday in Jackson, Miss. He was 60. The circumstances of his death were not made public. Jacobs had said he started the promotion in 1994 because he saw a decline in personal relations. He operated flower shops in Jackson for about 20 years and gave away a dozen roses to each customer as long as they gave all but one to somebody else. FTD picked up the program in 1996, and florists have given away millions of flowers since then.

Hazel Warp, who was Vivien Leigh's stunt double in "Gone With the Wind," died Tuesday. She was 93. Warp died at Livingston Memorial Hospital in Bozeman, Mont., a spokeswoman said. A cause of death wasn't released. Warp, who rode and trained horses, was a stand-in for Leigh in all the horseback-riding scenes in the 1939 movie. She also took a fall for Leigh, tumbling down the stairs of Tara near the end of the film when Scarlett O'Hara reaches out to slap Rhett Butler, loses her balance and falls.
