General Mills Inc. said Wednesday that it has acquired ready-to-cook spice and sauce mixes produced in India under the Parampara brand.

Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

The Parampara products are produced in Pune, India, and are primarily marketed in western India. They are also exported to the United States, Canada and Japan.

"The acquisition of Parampara Food Products' strong portfolio of brands strengthens our ability to help bring home-cooked meals to the family table and positions General Mills India for continued growth," Vijay Sood, executive director of General Mills India, said in a news release.

General Mills' other Indian businesses include its Atta brand flour, Betty Crocker dessert mixes and Nature Valley granola bars.
