EarthClean Corp., the Minneapolis-based developer of a nontoxic gel to kill fires and Minnesota Cup grand prize winner, is moving onto the final round of the Cleantech Open business competition.

The entreprenturial contest awards winning early stage clean-tech companies with services and cash. EarthClean was one of three regional finalists named Wednesday from the North Central division to enter the competition's final round in Nov. 17, where it will compete against finalists from other areas of the U.S.

The other two regional finalists from North Central were Arkansas-based Silicon Solar Solutions and Wisconsin-based Xolve. All three regional finalists received cash and services worth $30,000.

The national winner will receive $250,000 worth of investment and services. The final round will take place in San Jose, California.
