A peace offering for frustrated marathoners

I wrote a couple of days ago about Sunday's canceled Minneapolis Marathon and half marathon. There was no shortage of angst expressed on social media toward race organizer Tearm Ortho over the weather-based decision.

Team Ortho e-mailed those affected by the cancellation Tuesday afternoon with an offer that, while not a refund, does figure to appease some of the masses.

It offered three different discount options, the best of which looks to be a $20 entry fee for any remaining Team Ortho event this year — or next year's Minneapolis Marathon (and associated races).
