Next Tuesday: Michigan's primary. At stake are 30 GOP delegates. It was stripped of half its GOP delegates and all of its Democratic ones because it broke party rules in moving up its contest. State party leaders expect to regain the lost delegates at their conventions.

Jan. 19: Caucuses in Nevada, a key Western state that voted twice for former President Bill Clinton and voted for President Bush in 2004

Jan. 26: South Carolina primary

Feb. 5: Call it Super Tuesday, Mega Tuesday or the day to watch. It's when more than 20 states, including Minnesota, hold contests, and it's key because nominees from both parties could be decided that day.
