Restaurant deal of the week: State Fair

September 2, 2010 at 9:25PM

It's a frequently told tale, but at this price, it bears repeating: The most value-conscious way to greet a State Fair day is to drop by Tejas Express (the Garden, just north of the Food Building) for the stand's impressively large and tasty breakfast burrito. For $2.50, diners get a soft tortilla shell stuffed with scrambled eggs, Cheddar cheese and grilled onions and peppers; the punchy tomatillo salsa is free, as is the complimentary cup of coffee. Served from 8 to 11 a.m. daily.
