Earlier Sunday, we posted a paragraph on the fact Vikings quarterback Brett Favre had texted ESPN's Ed Werder and said he didn't think he would have been able to play against the Giants if the game hadn't been moved to Monday.

That was mildly interesting but the fact was Favre didn't have to worry about trying to test out his sprained throwing shoulder on Sunday.

Things just got a bit more interesting because Favre has sent another text. This time it went to Jon Saraceno of USA Today and he reports that Favre said he doubts he will play Monday night against the Giants at Ford Field in Detroit.

Favre has started an NFL-record 297 consecutive games in the regular season but it appears that streak could end in a game which already is off the charts for weird stuff having happened in a season in which ... well, you get the idea.
