Potential Snow for Denver

April 15, 2009 at 4:30PM

The potential for snow in Denver in the upcoming days proves that winterdoes not want to release its grip on the Front Range of the Rockies. The snowwill likely begin Thursday night then fall heavily at times Friday into Fridaynight. The same storm set to spark an outbreak of severe weather over thecentral and southern Plains will deliver the snow. The snow in Denver will likely be wet in nature with temperatures near thefreezing mark. That will keep the heaviest accumulations confined to grassysurfaces. Motorists should still be prepared for slushy and slippery spots, especially on bridges and overpasses.

The presence of colder air in the foothills and mountain passes west ofDenver will lead to more treacherous travel. The snow, however, will be awelcome sight to skiers and snowboarders.
