Mother Jones Shirley Jones, who has played everything from Marian the Librarian to Mama Partridge, adds soap opera diva to her résumé, appearing on "Days of Our Lives" (noon, KARE, Ch. 11) through Thursday. If this news does not trigger you to start humming "C'mon, Get Happy," you are beyond help.

Shaky launch The new sitcom "Welcome to the Captain" (7:30 p.m., WCCO, Ch. 4), which tracks the antics of misfit residents of a Hollywood apartment complex, boasts the dry wit of Jeffrey Tambor and the va-va-vibrancy of Raquel Welch. It's slightly amusing, but it all seems a bit low-rent for its talented cast.

Everything 'Old' is new again If Welch suggests that women over 40 still have sex appeal, then Julia Louis-Dreyfus confirms it in her returning series, "The New Adventures of Old Christine" (8:30 p.m., WCCO, Ch. 4). She's continuing proof that there's nothing more sensual than clever, hilarious talent. Welcome back, gorgeous.
