A pedestrian walking along a northern Minnesota highway was struck and killed by a pickup truck in Becker County Thursday night, authorities said.
The victim, 39-year-old Crystal Tucker, of Mahnomen, is described as a 39-year-old Mahnomen woman. The State Patrol said Tucker was walking north along the shoulder of Hwy. 59 near Brolin Beach Road when she was hit.
She was taken to Essentia Hospital in Detroit Lakes, where she later died.
The 38-year-old driver and a 15-year-old passenger in the pickup were not injured. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
