A motorcycle crash left a woman dead and a man injured early Saturday in western Wisconsin.

Joshua Sykora, 34, of Hastings, was driving south on County Trunk Highway F with passenger Brooke Baker, 38, of Prescott, Wis., when his motorcycle left the road, went into a ditch and overturned, according to the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office. Alcohol may have played a role in the crash, the sheriff said in a news release.

When officers arrived, they found Sykora lying injured on a median near the intersection of the highway and Riverview Drive. Baker's body was found in the ditch.

Sykora was taken to the Hudson, Wis., hospital and later to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for treatment of noncritical injuries.
