Ronald Paul ``Ron'' Halverson, passed away suddenly at his home in Eau Claire, WI on Monday, Dec. 24, 2001. Ron was born in Eau Claire on Feb. 10, 1945 to Lillian Marieth Halverson and Harold Philip Halverson. Ron attended Campus School and then graduated from Memorial High School in 1963. He married Judy Speckien in 1965. Ron joined the Army and served his country in Vietnam. He was very proud of his military service and his reference to this era in our country's history was always respectful. Following his military service, he became a very successful computer programmer and systems analyst while serving in a management position with NCR and later Super Valu. Ron became disabled in a car accident in 1985 and retired from corporate life in 1989. However, he maintained his fervent interest in computers. His advanced thinking and passion for the multimedia world of computers remained until the day he died. Ron will be missed by all who knew him. Ron is survived by his sisters, Barbara Ehlers of Fort Wayne, IN, and Marieth Solie of Beldenville, WI; his brother, Philip Halverson of Richfield, MN, and his lifelong friend and confidant, Ben Proctor of Eau Claire, WI. Ron was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service for Ron will be held at 9:30 AM Friday, January 4, 2002 at Prock Funeral Home Chapel, 405 N. Hastings Place, Eau Claire, with Pastor Rolf Nestingen officiating. Private burial services will be held at 2 pm also on Friday at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in the Twin Cities (off I-494 at 34th Ave exit). In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Eau Claire County Humane Assoc. would be appreciated. Arr. with Prock Funeral Home.
