Susan Mealey Rand Loskot

Loskot Susan (Sukie) Mealey Rand died peacefully surrounded by family on December 20, 2002 at her home in Sarasota, FL. She was born on November 2, 1926 in Minneapolis, MN, where she attended the Northrop Collegiate School and Washburn High School. She was predeceased by her parents, Rufus Randall Rand Jr. and Helen Chase Rand; her sisters, Helen Starkweather Rand, Mary Rand Whitehouse of Washington, DC, and Fredrika Rand Millett of Darien, CT. After attending Mills College in California, she married Guy Anthony Loskot, an executive at General Electric Co. She spent most of her married life in Sao Paolo, Brazil, Madrid, Spain and Vienna, Austria, before settling in Schenectady, NY. She retired to Sarasota where she volunteered for the Van Wezel Center and the Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her son, Guy Anthony Rand Loskot (Wanda Tustanowska); her sisters, Kate Rand Lloyd of Binghampton, NY, Penny Rand Winton (David Michael) of Minneapolis, MN, and 15 nieces & nephews. In lieu of flowers, gifts to the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens and the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center are preferred. Plans for a memorial service are being made.
