Buzanis Efrosini H., age 87, of Mpls. Born in Patras, Greece, 12-27-14. Died December 21, 2002. Preceded in death by husband Harry Buzanis; father John Mellin; mother Irene (Koujelos) in Greece; brother & sister-in-law, Peter & Christina in Greece. Survived by son, Dennis Buzanis & fiancee Rebecca Weber, Highland Pk, MN; brother & sister-in-law in Pierrus Greece, John & Christina Mellin; sister, Hydo Mellin; nephews, Andreas, George, Thansie, Peter, Chris, Andrew, and Dimitri, very special niece Vasso, all of Patras Greece; niece, Sophie Stamatis of Chicago, IL; other nieces and great nieces in Greece. Efrosini immigrated to Mpls Nov. 30, 1950 and resided in South Mpls with her husband Harry, who immigrated here in 1919. They were married in Greece August 1950. Harry passed away in 1956. After that she was employed at Abbott Northwestern, then at Mount Siani Hospital where she worked in various departments as a nursing assistant until her retirement in 1983. After her retirement she was active in gardening and St. Marys Greek Church of which she was a member since 1950, where she was a member of the Senior Citizen's Club there and the Ladies Phillotohos/Society. In 2001 she moved to Rosewood Estates in Highland Park where she was active in many activities up until her passing. Til the end she was active in all her activities. Visitation Monday 5:30-7:30 with Trisagion Service at 7:30 p.m. at St. Marys Greek Church 3450 Irving Ave. S., Mpls. Funeral service Tuesday 11:00 a.m. also at Church. Interment Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to St. Marys Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund. A special thanks to the staff at Rosewood Estates for all their kindness and support in all the activites they had her active in. Special thanks to the nurses on station 43 at Abbott Northwestern, to Dr. Vaurio for all the care over the years. To Rebecca Weber who was the daughter she never had. To her very close friends Clint and Elaine, and Mrs. C, and her special little canine friend Libby. Also specials to Father Harry and Father Ted of the Church. And to my special friends Dean, Anna, and Tom for all their support. She died with the dignity that she always carried herself with, her loving son Dennis & Rebecca.
